Doctrine of God Revealed in Psalm 23Verse 1.The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.1.      In this verse we see in the phrase “shall not want” the LORD who will provide[Jehovah–Jireh], The LORD who sees and provides. God provided Abraham’s Ram. Ge 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.Verse 2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.2.      In this verse we see the God of Peace in that he maketh me to lie down in green pastures. Also This is seen in the still waters. This is [Jehovah-Shalom] who sends peace. Also in this verse we see the God who Leads us as a shepherd, the same in verse 1.In This He is known as [Jehovah-Rohi], Jehovah my Shepherd. As a new testament believer we are given this great peace. Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Also we have a Shepherd. John chapter ten is the great Sheep passage. Verse 3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.3.      In this verse we see the Great God of restoration. This is the Lord That heals us [Isa 53] in this he is known as [Jehovah-Ropheca.] May I add right here most “common-taters”say that the curse of the law is death. But according to the first mention, and the type holds up, the curse of the law is an altered state of being. Eat your lamb with your shoes on and your loins girded [Exodus 12:11] and God will bring you out whole. [Psalm 105] Ps 105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. Also we see in this verse the God that leads us into the paths of righteousness by sanctification. In This He is known as [Jehovah-Mekaddishkem.]Ro 8:29 ¶ For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Ro 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.Verse 4. Ps 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.How in the world can we fear death when the resurrection is with us?4.      Yea though I walk through this valley I Have, [Jehovah-Shammah] “The God who is there” you  may say where is he and my reply would be THERE, wherever I am , there he is. His rod and his staff would be my banner, better known as [Jehovah-Nissi.] “Jehovah My Banner.Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.Song 2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.Verse 5. Ps 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.5.      In this verse we see again the God of Provision. [Jehovah-Jireh.] Also we see the God of healing in the anointing of the head with oil. [Jehovah-Ropheca]. Also in the presence of our enemies we have the LORD of hosts in [Jehovah-Tsebahoth] Jehovah of hosts, just as Joshua had the Captain of Hosts with him. My cup runneth over simply because of [Jehovah] because he that always was, That always is, and that is ever to come. Our cup is always full to running over because he lives forever more.Verse 6. Ps 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.In this verse I see Gods two Sheep Dogs, Surely Goodness and Mercy following me all the way Home. This speaks to me of [Jehovah-Elohay] Jehovah My God, and [Jehovah-Shahmmah] Jehovah is There. And someday we will be with [El-Bethel] in Bethel. With the God of the House of God in the House of God forever! In the Book of Hebrews we read, Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. There are five negatives in the original language of this verse.Never, never in no wise will I ever leave thee, no never will I forsake thee or leave thee.
